New legislation to be laid before Tynwald
Recreational fishing for sea bass on the Isle of Man has caught the attention of Europe's Angling press.
Inland Fisheries manager Karan Galtress says the attention is spirited by new proposed legislation being laid before Tynwald this month.
Recreational Sea Fishing (Bass) Regulations 2016 would see only rod and line fishermen licensed to a limited catch of one 50-60cm long bass a day.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture's ideas were well received by the majority of respondents at public consultation.
It says the new rules will help sustain a blooming angling tourism industry - Mrs Galtress says the news has enthusiasts hooked.
