Thomas will ask Tynwald to support his idea
A Douglas Central MHK is calling for a ‘strategic reset’ of the Sea Services Agreement.
Chris Thomas has put forward a Tynwald motion asking for the agreement - between The Department of Infrastructure and the Steam Packet Company – to be considered.

The current SSA was approved by Tynwald in 2019.
It requires the Steam Packet to keep the Ben-my-Chree but the DoI is currently considering a request to see this replaced by the MV Arrow.
The former infrastructure minister told Manx Radio he’s not sure the Steam Packet can meet the requirements it agreement sets out:
