DoI does its bit
Participants in tomorrow’s Remembrance Day commemorations around the Island will be able to travel to and from events for free on public transport.
The fee exemption will apply to anyone in uniform, including cadets and scouts, and those with evidence of their military service.
Member with responsibility for Public Transport Jason Moorhouse says with so many events taking place around the Island on Sunday, it’s important those taking part are supported in being able to pay tribute.
He adds the Department of Infrastructure has decided it will make this small gesture to help those commemorating the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.
The measure will last all day and applies to everyone taking part in an official event or parade.
