Wet weather hampers resurfacing
The section of New Castletown Road which has been closed for resurfacing is to stay shut for a while longer.
The Department of Infrastructure says poor weather conditions have hampered work on the route from Spring Valley Roundabout to the bottom of Richmond Hill.
It says the paving and lining teams need a window of dry weather to complete resurfacing work, however wet weather is expected to continue for the next few days.
The DOI says 'unfortunately weather dictates progress', adding it 'shares everyone's frustrations'.
The current closure order on the road expires on Sunday, 5 November.
The DOI says it has applied to extend this in order to get the last few days worth of work done.
