Businesses have contacted local authority to express concern
Garff Commissioners have asked the post office board for a clear message on the future of counter-based services in Laxey.
The authority is concerned the post office's retail strategy threatens to 'undermine' and eventually 'downgrade' Laxey's branch.
Bosses at the post office maintain that changes to the retail network will only be decided once a sub-post master stands down.
With the potential replacement of Ballasalla's branch with a self-service kiosk, Garff Commissioners fear Laxey's could be next.
