50% over the age of 50 says union
Government has been urged to invest in the teachers it already has - as well as looking to bring staff to the Island.
Teaching union the NASUWT says many of the new starters – who are incentivised to move here – don’t last more than three years.
Local negotiating secretary Geraldine O’Neill has told Manx Radio there must be more done for the staff already here.
And, whilst complimentary of a recent increase in starting salary, she says it’s the older members of the workforce who need support:
