The Isle of Man Government needs to be proactive when it comes to protecting its people.
That is according to the Head of Registration and Inspection at the Department of Health and Social Care Mark Campbell.
He is responding to concerns arising from the implementation of parts of the Regulation of Care Act.
On Manx Radio on Monday we heard that from now on parents will no longer be able to leave children under the age of eight at the Children's Centre Out2Play holiday scheme.
Mr Campbell says it is in now way a criticism of the services provided by the Children's Centre, rather a need for the Island to move with the times.
