Ashford concerned about local suppliers' route to market
A Douglas North MHK says government should have had more involvement in the sale of Shoprite to Tesco to ensure local suppliers can keep hold of a route to market.

Regulations - which would give the Office of Fair Trading the powers to oversee such acquisitions - have never been brought forward by government despite The Competitions Act receiving Royal Assent in 2021.
He told Manx Radio it's highlighted a 'gaping hole' in the legislation:
