Government seeks approval from Douglas Council
The government is moving forward with plans to improve infrastructure at the Grandstand in Noble's Park for the TT and Festival of Motorcycling.
Riders and fans have previously complained some of the facilities at the site weren't up to scratch.
To address these issues, the Department for Enterprise has sought permission from Douglas Council to push on with a raft of improvements at the Grandstand.
These include work on the central pathway, connecting portable toilets to main drains, new fencing, and a new vehicle access point into Noble's Park from St Ninian's Road.
Douglas Council has agreed to the proposals, provided the department pay for, arrange and maintain the new infrastructure.
It's asked for replacements to be planted for the four mature trees which will be removed to create the access point, and for a cycle lane to be included.
The Council estimates the upgrades could save the local authority more than £85,000.
The Department for Enterprise has been approached for comment.
