Committee to look at issue
North Douglas MHK David Ashford is to chair a committee set up by Chief Minister Howard Quayle to look at zero-hour contracts.
Under such an arrangement, an employer is not obliged to provide any minimum working hours and the worker does not have to accept any work offered.
Critics believe such contracts are open to abuse.
Mr Ashford says it's a subject that divides opinion.
