Heavy rain and possible thunderstorms forecast to affect the Island, with localised flooding risk in some areas
The Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning ahead of expected heavy rainfall and the possibility of thunderstorms across the Isle of Man from tonight (3am) through till tomorrow afternoon (4pm).
An active frontal system is forecast to bring persistent rain overnight, turning heavier around dawn on Saturday.
Although conditions are expected to ease and become more patchy by the afternoon, another band of heavy rain is likely to cross the Island early in the afternoon.
Rainfall totals are predicted to reach between ten and fifteen millimetres, with up to twenty-five millimetres possible in some areas.
Forecasters warn this could lead to significant surface water and a small risk of localised flooding, particularly in areas prone to such conditions.
There is also a small risk of thunderstorms, most likely overnight and continuing into late Saturday morning.
Ronaldsway has indicated that if this risk increases, a further warning may be issued.
