
It was a school day this week at the Clypse Reservoir - but the schools were of fish!
An Easter holiday scheme for budding anglers has seen youngsters coached by experts in the art of cast and catch.
Thursday's event (9 April) jointly organised by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and Manx Sport and Recreation, was designed to promote angling to the younger generation - and promote a sport families can enjoy together.
Over two sessions, groups of children aged between 9 and 13 were taught a variety of angling techniques as well as the rules of the sport and advice on staying safe near water.
Organisers say all the children caught at last one trout!
John Moss went along to the reservoir north of Onchan, to see whether youngsters trying angling for the first time, had taken the bait:
