Recognised for over 30 years of service at RYA
HRH the Princess Royal has presented a Manx boater with a prestigious award.
David Hill received a lifetime of voluntary commitment recognition by the Royal Yachting Association Honours and Awards Panel for over 30 years of service.
He's a founding member of the Manx Powerboat Club in the 1960s, and set up a local branch of the RYA in Peel - now known as the Peel Sailing and Cruising Club.
Although he acted as treasurer, administrator and secretary in safety training over the course of his tenure, David said: "The award came totally out of the blue", and he was thoroughly delighted by it.
