An inquest into the death of a Douglas woman who died a day after being discharged from hospital continues this morning
Thirty-seven year old Christina Collister spent 16 days in Noble's with leg injuries after being hit by a car outside Ellan Vannin Gymnastics Club in November 2011.
She suffered breathing difficulties at home on the 25th November, the day after leaving hospital, and died that day from a pulmonary embolism.
Pathologist Dr Christopher Clague said it wasn't uncommon for patients suffering leg trauma injuries to suffer blood clots after treatment, although the inquest was told Mrs Collister had been given medication to prevent that happening.
