The DEC brings together 14 UK aid charities in times of crisis.
The intense storm has swept through Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe killing hundreds and affecting an estimated 2.6 million people.
Floods and high winds have ripped apart roads, bridges and houses with around 400,000 having lost their homes.
Some 300 people are confirmed dead in Mozambique and Zimbabwe, but the toll is expected to rise.
The powerful cyclone swept into Beira last Thursday, with winds of more than 177km/h (106 mph). It left a trail of devastation as it moved inland.
