Case-by-case review 'works well'
The Island has a pragmatic approach to personal capability assessments for those with chronic illness, according to the deputy director of social security at the Treasury.
Darren Oldham explained that although not 'enshrined in legislation' the current system of case-by-case reviews works well.
A government report on the assessments process is currently on-going, with the results expected to be published soon.
Mr Oldham says the current system is sensitive to the needs of the chronically ill.
