Today is World Suicide Prevention Day
The Isle of Man must start ‘pulling together’ to try and prevent people from taking their own lives.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September).
People who have been affected by it are being invited to attend a remembrance event tonight organised by the Bereaved Survivors of Suicide group.
There will be mindfulness and meditation, the reading and remembering of names of those who have died and a sea dip.
The event will take place at 5pm at The Shed in Laxey – people are invited to share photos and bring a candle.
Founder David Higson told Manx Radio he believes 15 people have completed suicide since the start of this year and says something needs to be done:
