Roger W Smith is here to stay
A watchmaker ranked among the world's best says he is 'extremely proud' to have received an OBE for his work in the Island.
Roger W Smith was featured on the Queen's Birthday Honours List earlier this month.
The 48-year-old moved here twenty years ago to work with his mentor, the legendary horologist George Daniels.
He's recently moved into a new workshop near Ramsey, where traditional equipment - some of it up to 200 years old - is combined with cutting-edge technology.
Mr Smith has no plans to give up on his lifelong dream to perfect the coaxial mechanism - and he told Manx Radio there is no place better to pursue his passion:
