Rachael Braidwood will take over role from James Brooks
The Isle of Man has a new Deputy High Bailiff.
Rachael Braidwood, who was called to the Manx Bar in 2002, has been appointed to the role but will not take up any of the duties until she is officially sworn-in on a date to be confirmed.
She moves to the position from His Majesty’s Attorney General’s Chambers where she was a prosecuting advocate - a position she’d held since 2003.
Miss Braidwood said: "I am honoured and delighted to have been appointed as Deputy High Bailiff.
"I look forward to serving the people of the Isle of Man in my new role and welcome the new challenges that lie ahead.”
Current Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks – who is taking up the post of High Bailiff – will be sworn in in September following the retirement of current postholder Jayne Hughes.
