Mr Quayle has been involved in local politics since 1973
After nearly 50 years of service to local politics in the north of the Island, John Quayle has decided to step down.
Mr Quayle has been involved with Jurby Commissioners since 1973, as well as taking on roles with neighbouring authorities in Andreas and Ballaugh.
To celebrate his retirement, a special event was held at Jurby Parish Hall last week, with government ministers, commissioners, and friends.
Mr Quayle offered some words of advice to his successors:

Manx Care hopeful new offer will be accepted amid looming industrial action
Island-based Strix factory to close
Bride Commissioners organise drop in session about NCAS funding
