Ministerial position for Ayre and Michael MHK
The new enterprise minister says he wants to provide ‘clear leadership’ and create the right conditions for the Manx economy to ‘prosper’.
Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Johnston has been elevated to the Council of Ministers.
He will stay on as chair of the Manx Utilities until a successor is appointed.
Mr Johnston, who has been a member of the Department for Enterprise, stated he didn’t want to become a minister in his General Election manifesto in September 2021.
But Chief Minister Alfred Cannan says things have changed:
Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who was overseeing Enterprise and Health and Social Care, retains the latter.
