New housing estate sits on unrestricted road which is 'dangerous' for children
Jurby Commissioners is urging the Department of Infrastructure to move a 30mph zone to help protect a children's play area.
The local authority says the road becomes derestricted just ahead of the new Ballagarraghyn estate entrance, which it believes is 'dangerous' for the youngsters in the village.
It adds that the issue has been ongoing for a number of months and was brought up at the hustings for the House of Keys election.
Commissioner Hilary Fletcher claims three pets from the estate have been killed during the summer months due to the speed of vehicles on the Bretney Road.
