Suspect arrested by armed police
Armed police were deployed in Willaston yesterday (12 March) after a child was injured in an incident involving a knife.
It happened at around 4pm.
Police have confirmed an assault took place between two ‘juvenile females’ – as a result the victim sustained injuries which required hospital treatment.
They were not life threatening.
The other girl was arrested a short time later; she was charged and appeared at Douglas Courthouse this morning (13 March).
Police have appealed for any members of the public, who witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV or dash cam footage of what happened to contact Police Headquarters or Crimestoppers.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Man Constabulary added: "We would kindly ask that the public refrain from speculation at this time.
"Whilst we understand this incident would cause concern within the community it was an isolated incident and contained very quickly to minimise any further risk to the public."
