A Laxey man who made sexual comments to a teenage boy has been jailed after a court heard he’d been cautioned by police over a similar incident previously.
Fifty-eight-year-old Robert Black, of New Road, was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse.
At an earlier hearing he’d pleaded guilty to a single count of provoking behaviour on 22 January.
Black had been at a hotel in Ramsey, for a racing association dinner, and was drunk.
The court heard he’d sat next to the 14-year-old, held his hand and told him he’d looked like a girl saying he liked 'trans men' and offering to give him the ‘time of his life’.
The boy told his mother, who warned Black to stay away, but he twice approached the youngster before hotel management called police.
Sentencing Black magistrates said they weren’t impressed with a character reference provided by the racing association.
They jailed him for four months also ordering him to pay £500 compensation to his victim and £125 towards prosecution costs.
