Yesterday, the court voted unanimously to support a motion from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft asking for an independent view on the loans and land deal worth more than £4.5 million.
Her motion was supported by Treasury Minister Eddie Teare who suggested the expected £5,000 cost should be met by parliament rather than the government – a move that was rejected by the court.
After winning the vote, Mrs Beecroft said whichever budget it came out of, the money still belonged to the taxpayer:
