MHK explains opposition to upper house election
An MHK said his opposition to all three candidates in last week’s Legislative Council election was not a reflection on their attributes.
Douglas Central member Chris Thomas was one of two politicians who declined to support any of those bidding for the vacancy.
MHKs were required to vote for or against and could not abstain.
Mr Thomas said his decision was two-fold with one eye on next month’s debate into the Lisvane review of the Manx parliament.
