Vessel suffered engine failure
Douglas lifeboat was called out last night to go to the aid of a yacht which had suffered engine failure.
The alarm was raised by the sole crew member just after 8pm when the vessel, en-route from Whitehaven to the Island, was around 4 miles out from Douglas, off Clay Head.
The Sir William Hillary was launched, quickly located the yacht and took her under tow.
She was safely brought into a berth on Battery Pier where Douglas Coastguard were waiting to help.
The yachtsman was said to be none the worse for his ordeal.
