Veggie alternatives will also be supported
The government's Food Matters Strategy is open to the development of meat substitutes.
That's according to DEFA's director of agriculture and lands, Andrew Lees.
Whilst there is significant attention paid to local meat production, he says there's plenty of scope for vegetarian alternatives:
