Saving on locums and bank: £1.7 million in 2017/18
Locum doctors don't 'rule the roost' at Noble's Hospital - on the contrary, locum and bank spend has been cut by 24.3 per cent in the last year.
That's according to director Mike Quinn in response to comments from workers' union; Unite.
Head of the Isle of Man Branch; Eric Holmes said agency doctors have formed a monopoly there, and are hampering efforts to recruit, and make savings.
