Public row with former vicar now behind him
The Island’s Lord Bishop says he’s put a public row with one of his former vicars behind him.
Robert Paterson officially leaves his post next week after eight years in the role.
Last month, a church tribunal upheld a raft of disciplinary charges against Dr Jules Gomes who has subsequently accused the Bishop of taking a dictatorial line tantamount to Sharia law - the strict legal code of Islam governing public behaviour.
The Bishop says he doesn’t intend to dignify those comments with a reply.
