Education minister pressed about school meals in HoK
There are just 44 vegetarians and 4 vegans registered with primary schools and the schools meal service.
The answer from Education Minister Graham Cregeen in the House of Keys to a question from Onchan MHK Julie Edge who believes this represents less than 1% of pupils.
Mr Cregeen was then pressed why nearly half the school menu caters for vegan and vegetarian choices.
He then listed some of the options available to all pupils:
