An unemployed bricklayer from Douglas has bene fined after hurling abuse at staff, customers and children in McDonald's.
Twenty-seven-year-old Nathan Alexander Orme of Anagh Coar Road appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He admitted being drunk and disorderly on 23 September.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon said staff at the fast-food outlet dialled 999 shortly after 9pm when Orme became abusive.
He shouted obscenities at staff inside the restaurant and leapt over the counter in front of shocked patrons.
When police arrived, he’d already fled the scene but was found hiding under a nearby bridge over the river.
As he was led away to a police van, he began swearing at police as well as two young boys.
Magistrates told him his behaviour had been appalling and fined him £400 as well as ordering him to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
