45-year-old pushed, punched, and kicked partner
A court's heard a Douglas man's said to have ripped out his girlfriend's hair in a vicious attack.
Forty-five-year-old Lee Cowell of Darragh Passage appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
He's pleaded guilty to criminal damage and not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a woman on 11 June.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing Mr Cowell went to a house party with the woman and the couple spent the night at his home.
However, when she woke up and went into the living room at 6.30am the next day, Mr Cowell’s said to have turned abusive and aggressive.
Miss Cubbon said he’d pushed his girlfriend to the floor, punching and kicking her as she begged him to stop.
When she tried to escape, he grabbed her hair and ripped it out before she broke free and ran to a shop to get help.
Mrs Hughes said the case was too serious to be heard in a summary court and bailed Mr Cowell to appear again on 20 August.
