20-year-old admits possession
A Douglas man will be sentenced later this month after being caught with 6.6 grammes of cannabis resin.
Twenty-year-old Cairo Dean Benjamin of Sumark Croft appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted one charge of possessing the class B drug, and prosecution advocate Barry Swain withdrew a further charge of obstructing a police drugs search.
Mr Swain said police were on patrol on Anagh Coar Lane on 17 March when they spotted Benjamin, who immediately fled.
They caught him a short distance away and asked why he'd run off – he admitted he was carrying cannabis, which turned out to have a street value of £37.68.
Magistrates adjourned the case until 19 September for reports and Benjamin was bailed to that date.
