Dillon Cowie also threw glass and deodorant can
A man’s been jailed for 14 weeks after spitting at his pregnant ex-girlfriend outside a busy restaurant.
Twenty-one-year-old Dillon Frazer Cowie of Marathon Drive in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Christopher Arrowsmith at Douglas courthouse.
He’d previously pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman outside Barbary Coast on North Quay on 22 September.
Prosecution advocate Rachael Braidwood said Cowie had been drinking in the bistro when he spotted two of his ex-girlfriend’s friends.
When his ex arrived to pick up her pals, Cowie banged on her car before spitting at her four times through an open window.
He also threw a drink over her as he shouted abuse, throwing a glass towards the car and also throwing a deodorant can as his victim drove away.
Mr Arrowsmith told Cowie spitting was a disgusting act and the incident had been deeply unpleasant both for the woman and anybody witnessing it.
He imposed a 14 week jail term.
