Martin Malone has travelled to Kent to raise money for Rebecca House
A local man is taking on a mammoth challenge by attempting to swim for 24-hours continuously, starting this morning (9am, 6 September).
Martin Malone is taking on the 'Big Swim' in aid of Rebecca House Children’s Hospice and The Children’s Centre - he's aiming to raise £50,000.
He's travelled to St Andrew's lake in Kent where he'll remain in the water for the entire time, stopping each hour at a pontoon to take on food and drink:
Martin's swimming challenge is just one aspect of fundraising efforts being undertaken by Expedition Limitless, of which he is a team leader.
The group is aiming to raise £200,000 over two years to support children and families across the Isle of Man.
For the 'big swim' Martin is being sponsored by several companies, including:
- Zoggs
- Loganair
- St Andrew’s Lakes
- The Z Zurich Foundation
- Visit Isle of Man
- Josh Blue Fitness
- Bikestyle Isle of Man
- Zurich Isle of Man
- The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company

Every donation is to be matched by the Z Zurich Foundation.
