Group's chair speaks of his own experience
A charity on the Isle of Man helping people suffering from ME is recognising 'Severe ME Awareness Day' today.
ME stands for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also called chronic fatigue syndrome, and last year it was thought around 350 people on the Isle of Man suffered from it.
Around 25% of people with the post-viral condition are categorised as 'severe' cases.
Juan Corlett from ME Support Isle of Man has had the condition for ten years.
'This time last year I was starting to emerge from the worst of it. Being able to chat in a relaxed way, even for a couple of hours, is such a relief!'
His symptoms were severe between 2018 and 2020:
Smile of Mann programme to start in primary schools next year
Loganair passengers yet to be reunited with bags left in Manchester on Sunday
Kirk Michael man taking on 31 marathons in 31 days in memory of friend
Government grant partially funded fishing vessel later used for smuggling
CRHS plans are progressing, insists education minister
