Rise of 68 pence since 2020
The living wage on the Isle of Man now stands at £10.87 according to a new government report.
It's a rise of 68 pence, on last year, and is £2.62 an hour more than the Island’s current minimum wage of £8.25.
It's also two pence higher than the recommended living wage for London.
The Manx Living Wage is calculated to represent the 'minimum level of pay necessary to allow people the basic opportunities and choices necessary for them to participate in society'.
Whilst the minimum wage is legally enforceable the Manx Living Wage is entirely optional - though government says it demonstrates a businesses 'position as responsible employers' should it adopt the pay scale.
The new recommended rate reflects a weekly wage, before tax, of £413.21 and an annual income of roughly £21.5k (£21,487).
