Labour and Greens want to win seats
The Island's political parties have outlined their ambitions for the local authority elections in April.
The Manx Labour Party and the Isle of Man Green Party already have commissioners and councillors in post.
Both parties are hoping to field candidates in April, primarily in Douglas.
Manx Labour leader David Cretney told Local Democracy Reporter Ewan Gawne his party has its sights set on the capital:
Green Party's Andrew Bentley is a Douglas councillor who'll be standing for election in April.
He outlined to Ewan the party's key campaigning issues for upcoming elections.
Liberal Vannin will not formally back candidates in the forthcoming contest, as it's not part of the party's strategy at present.
The Island's nationalist party Mec Vannin has not commented on whether it will put forward candidates for the local elections.
Due to the requirement for sitting members of the House of Keys to swear an oath of allegiance to the British crown, the republicans do not take part in national elections.
The local authority elections will take place on April 23.
