Marc Mellor visiting war graves ahead of Armistice Day
A Manx resident is helping people unlock their family history by visiting the graves of their loved ones killed during war.
Marc Mellor is currently in Albert in the Somme region of France – it’s a trip he’s made many times before.
Fascinated with the history of the area – and that of Dunkirk and Ypres in Belgium - he decided to use the Facebook page ‘Manx Nostalgia’ to connect with other Islanders who may not have the ability to travel abroad.
Marc offers to visit the resting places of those who have died to lay Manx crosses and take photographs which he then sends back to families.
