Jane Crookall Maternity Unit reassurances expectant mums
Visitors will no longer be allowed on antenatal or postnatal wards, but pregnant mothers-to-be are being reassured care is continuing at the same high standard.
To protect patients and staff, the team at the Jane Crookall maternity unit is implementing the guidelines in line with Noble's visiting criteria, which permits only one essential visitor in exceptional circumstances.
However, a support person can be brought to scan appointments and a birthing partner will be permitted once labour is established, for the birth of the baby, and for a short period of time after the birth.
The restrictions will be monitored regularly and adjusted as soon as possible.
For any further queries, mums are asked to contact their community midwife on 650327 or the main ward on 650030.
