Fast food restaurant to close to reduce spread of coronavirus
McDonalds on Peel Road in Douglas is set to close today in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
The fast food restaurant has already shut its seating but was still offering drive-thru and takeaway services.
A company spokesperson has stated this was not a decision taken lightly, adding that the chain will work with local community groups to responsibly distribute food and drink in the coming days.
The Island branch will close, along with all UK and Ireland McDonalds restaurants, by 7pm this evening.
