Dr Andole remains healthcare provider's 'suitable person' while carrying out clinical work across
Manx Care has confirmed it is paying the salary of the medical director seconded to a UK hospital.
Dr Sreeman Andole is currently carrying out clinical work in Liverpool, but Manx Care says his substantive employment remains with the Island's healthcare provider, and therefore he is on its payroll.
He also remains the 'suitable person' for Manx Care, meaning he's responsible for doctors' revalidations, appraisals and governance on the Island.
Prior to his role in Liverpool, Dr Andole had a spell on secondment with University Hospital of Derby and Burton until October 2023 - during this time his salary was paid by the Derbyshire hospital's NHS Foundation Trust.
Since Dr Andole began his first secondment in March last year, Dr Marina Hudson has been in the role of Interim Medical Director.
