Motorcyclists against DEFA closure
Government's decision to close Snuff the Wind to motorbikes has provoked a strong reaction among those it affects.
Members of the Island's off-road motorcycling community will gather at a meeting at Vagabonds Rugby Club, scheduled for a week today, to discuss what to do next.
Dion Meechan is involved with the Isle of Man Schoolboy MCC and has been a rider himself for many years, cutting his teeth at the site at Rushen Mines like so many others.
He says Snuff the Wind has helped to produce some of the Island's best-ever riders - the likes of David and Juan Knight and the McCanney brothers - and has been enjoyed by high-profile visitors and residents as well:
