Claire Christian wants a more strategic system
An MHK believes the budget system needs to be updated so government can strategically plan how to spend taxpayers' money over a five to 10 year period.
Douglas South member Claire Christian's comments come ahead of a financial update from Treasury Minister Alex Allinson in this week's Tynwald sitting.
Ms Christian has questioned whether voting on capital projects individually allows members to consider what's most important for the Island.
She believes there needs to be longer-term thinking:
