Claire Christian wants a more strategic system
An MHK believes the budget system needs to be updated so government can strategically plan how to spend taxpayers' money over a five to 10 year period.
Douglas South member Claire Christian's comments come ahead of a financial update from Treasury Minister Alex Allinson in this week's Tynwald sitting.
Ms Christian has questioned whether voting on capital projects individually allows members to consider what's most important for the Island.
She believes there needs to be longer-term thinking:

Man treated for non-life threatening injuries following Ramsey incident
Consultation open on plans to formally recognise the heritage of Douglas Head
Police dealing with 'serious incident' in Ramsey
Drop-in session to support Isle of Man charities
