The powers of the government's chief secretary need to be looked at more closely.
That's the view of Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft.
It's after a question to Tynwald revealed the chief secretary acted "as the official channel of communications with the UK Government".
However, Mrs Beecroft says the issue was a political and legal one, which should not have fallen to a civil servant.
