Jason Moorhouse says it's a 'strategic route'
A southern MHK has described the time it's taking for the infrastructure department to complete part of the works to the Ballasalla Bypass as 'an unbelievable situation'.
Jason Moorhouse told Manx Radio nothing appears to be progressing at the 'now crucially important' southern section.
The Arbory, Castletown and Malew representative says the completion date for the works is unknown - accusing the department of leaving 'small issues' unresolved.
He added it's something he's been pushing for for several years:
Mr Moorhouse also submitted a written question to the Infrastructure Minister about the Balthane Roundabout asking how often it's flooded since January 2019 and about its maintenance.
In his response, Tim Crookall says since January 2019 there have been six reported instances of flooding there. He added as it's a primary road it is inspected on a monthly basis, including drains.
"Until the bypass scheme is delivered, the maintenance team continue to monitor and carry out routine maintenance as required and also respond to any adverse weather events accordingly."
