Ramsey member hopes to see change ahead of 2021 election
The Manx Government needs to have a robust electoral system in place ahead of the 2021 General Election.
That's according to MHK Lawrie Hooper MHK, who is seeking an update on plans to revise election legislation at this month's sitting of Tynwald.
Reviewing the electoral system was one of the actions identified by the Programme for Government, which was published in 2016.
It's one of a number of areas of the Programme the Ramsey member is seeking updates on at this month's sitting.
Mr Hooper insists it's vital the flaws are fixed before the Manx public next head to the polls:
Funding of government services 'not sustainable'
Manx Care undertaking 'comprehensive validation' of ENT waiting lists
Taxi fares on the Island to rise
Surgeon announces he's standing in General Election
Bus Vannin warns of services at risk this evening
