An Onchan MHK's comments about the introduction of charges for dental check-ups are being questioned.
Peter Karran has branded the introduction of the charge 'an act of vandalism on public health'.
He claims it will discourage some people from going for a check-up, which could lead to more extensive - and therefore expensive - work in the future, if something is not caught early.
Isle of Man Dental Association Secretary Nigel Armstrong thinks the impact will be minimal:
