Dr Alex Allinson to quiz health minister over charity's funding
An MHK says he was shocked to hear the news this week that redundancies and service cuts are being made at Hospice Isle of Man.
The charity says it's had to take the steps to ensure its long-term survival amid 'increasing financial difficulties'.
In the House of Keys next week, Ramsey member Alex Allinson is set to ask the health minister whether a review of funding for the Hospice was undertaken by her department to support the commitments relating to palliative and end-of-life care in the Mandate to Manx Care.
He explains why this issue is close to home:
Health Minister Claire Christian is set to give a statement to the House of Keys on Tuesday (31 March) regarding Hospice funding.
Hospice CEO Fiona Hatton says the decision to announce redundancies and cuts was 'tough, but the right thing to do'.
